For more than four decades, anaesthesiology has given me opportunities to serve patients, teach students, guide research, strengthen academic institutions and contribute to our professional community.
For me, service has always meant dedication.
Election Vision
Dr. Mukesh Shukla is contesting for President Elect with a desire to combine experience with fresh thinking, stronger academic engagement and meaningful opportunities for the next generation.

Strengthening education through digital learning, responsible use of AI, academic exchange and continuing faculty development.

Professional Journey
1988
Completed MD Anaesthesia and continued a career combining clinical practice with academic responsibility.
2012–2017
Served as Honorary Secretary of the Gujarat State Branch.
2022–2026
Led the Anaesthesia Department at Dr. N.D. Desai Faculty of Medical Science & Research.
2025
Established an eight-seat MD Anaesthesia postgraduate programme according to NMC norms.
Academic Legacy
Dr. Shukla progressed through the academic roles of Tutor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor and Professor & HOD.
His contribution extends across postgraduate education, research guidance, national examinations and academic governance.
His documented examination responsibilities include DNB coordination and National Board faculty roles.
Teaching Philosophy
Dr. Shukla believes information is only the beginning of medical education.
Knowledge grows through understanding, but wisdom develops through repeated clinical experience, careful observation and learning from patients.
For younger anaesthesiologists, his message remains clear: clinical examination, judgement, dedication and humanity should never be replaced by investigations alone.

Dr. Shukla’s relationship with ISA spans scientific participation, conferences, organisational responsibility and professional service.
Research Snapshot
Dr. Shukla has guided more than 30 postgraduate dissertations across airway management, regional anaesthesia, haemodynamic control, postoperative pain and perioperative care.
His documented academic work also includes clinical publications, scientific presentations and research projects.
